About
Andrea Knight was born in the spring of 1982, and grew up in Portland, OR. She was raised with a wide range of influences including anime/manga, fiction & science. Her skewed perspectives have lent themselves to complex compositions. Bold, dark, deeply saturated illustrations combine with strange narratives to create comic books and graphic novels of a subtly personal nature.
With tangible characters (even the cephalopods), a strange sense of humor, and a world of twisted landmarks oddly reminiscent of Portland; her sometimes convoluted stories are never the less clear. Meandering in and out of strange situations, utilizing visual metaphor and classic mythology, her graphic novels are her own translation of how confusing, amusing, and (most importantly) questionable the real world we live in can be.
Andrea is currently in her senior year at PNCA, working towards her BFA in Fine Arts Illustration
